Common problems with limited user accounts

I cannot activate my limited user account with my online banking ID or electronic identity card:

When logging into the service, please note the following:

• Make sure that your surname is entered as it was reported to the user accounts register. If you have registered as a student of the Open University using a surname other than the one you use to activate your limited account, the reset service cannot recognise you.
• You must enter your Finnish personal identity code in full under Ssn.

I cannot log into Moodle, library databases or other services with my limited account username:

The limited account username is usually of the form 5k12345. The username must be entered without full stops or the 'la.hy' identifier at the end. The first character depends on the year when the username was created.

The default password should be changed immediately, as it is valid for five logins only. You can change it by using the password change service. N.B.! The password must be renewed annually.

A limited account username is not the username for My pages:

To register for Open University studies, you signed up as a user of our website by creating a username and password for My pages. That username is not the same as your limited account username.

A limited account username is not the Moodle course key:

You need a separate one-time course key for the Moodle platform. Do not confuse the course key with your limited account username. You need your limited account username and password every time you log into Moodle, whereas the course key can be used only once.
